‘Zum Hof’, the multigenerational housing complex designed for approximately twenty people and more. The complex is embedded into the terrain of an old vineyard in Masans, following the contour lines of the rather unique plot, creating a scenery of staggered volumes and a courtyard in the middle.
The Loggias form a relation between the courtyard and the buildings, as well as the common spaces in between modules. These are places to socialize, cultivate hobbies, garden and form bonds with neighbors. The apartments extend over the semipublic spaces and create bigger living spaces above.
The first floor is a place of retreat for the residents, as a staircase leads up to the more private rooms. Prefabricated cross-laminated timber accommodates different spans and shapes. The residence offers many activities and living spaces for all ages, fostering community while respecting privacy.
