An over dimensioned PV module spanned over two volumes, held by sculpture-like concrete cores and pillars characterize the design 'Unter einem Dach'. The Wingert wall on the site and the historic farmhouse typology with a large residential building and small bakehouse inspired the built bodies.
The generous cold roof serves as weather protection for various outdoor living areas, drying room for fruits and supplies the multi-generation house with sufficient energy. The residential units can be flexibly configured from one-room to eight-room apartments via a staircase and sliding doors.
The design permits completely self-sufficient, energy-independent, and sustainable living thanks to the photovoltaic system. The power generated amounts to around 100,000 kWh per year, whereby the average consumption of a 20-person house of this type is around 85,000 kWh.
