The “Strata House” is a multi-family housing project, characterised by layers that unfold throughout the entire design – from the urban scale to the apartments. A defining feature of the building is the one-meter thick threshold wall, which serves as a multifunctional element for both the interior and exterior.
Entering the house from the square, one is welcomed into a central courtyard that opens up to the neighbouring buildings. This design enhances shared spaces and creates opportunities for social interaction. Each room features niches integrated into the thick, outer wall, designed with wooden structures.
Each wing of the building includes a larger family apartment, which extends over all floors and has its own internal staircase. The children have their own separate entrance, allowing the apartments to adapt to changing family needs and life circumstances. Together, these features highlight the Strata House’s functionality and adaptability.
