The Shared Focus Point complex in Masans, Chur, provides accommoda:on for up to 20 people and consists of three separate buildings. Two are two-storey and one is three-storey.
The two two-storey buildings are oriented towards the three-storey building, whose axes are highlighted by large glass fronts, crea:ng a central focal point. At this point there is a communal space with a large dining, living and cooking area that encourages multi-generational interactions.
The interior of the buildings is based on a clear square grid, inspired by the 12th century 'a braccia' system, which played a central role in the construc:on of the Torre Fiorenzana in Grono. The buildings have a durable shingle façade, which contrasts with the common room.
