Public Drawing – The Threshold
- Waldlabor
- The relatively new and partly artificial entrance pond, located at the forest’s edge, serves
as a transitional space where water gathers before flowing into the little river.
Hidden among trees and bushes, it provides a habitat for various animals, some of
which nest in a large tree stump nearby.
- Created by collected rainwater, the pond may dry out in summer as its water levels
depend on seasonal precipitation.
The water cycle here di?ers between the field and the forest, with rain in the field
soaking directly into the ground, while in the forest, it is intercepted by tree canopies and
the litter layer before reaching the soil or the pond.
- Underground pipes follow roughly the same path as the above-ground stream but do not
directly connect to the pond, unlike the ground stream, helping regulate water flow in
the area.
