Public Drawing – The Plateau
- Waldlabor
- The plateau is the highest point in the Waldlabor and serves as a bright, well-lit intersection that
functions as a passageway, regularly frequented by joggers, walkers, and vehicles. The two paths
divide the forest into four distinct areas, each characterized by unique properties, particularly
evident in the soil structure and the vegetation.
- To the front left lies the arboretum, the area is
strongly influenced by humans and distinguished by the cultivation of various plant species, in
contrast, the right-hand side at the front is much more natural, resulting in a wilder and more
overgrown landscape.
- Thanks to the slight curvature of the paths, water is
directed toward the edges, where it collects at the lowest point and is then funneled through a pipe
underneath the path, this allows the water to seep into the forest floor, supporting the natural water
balance.
