Public Drawing – The Forest’s Living Breath
- Waldlabor
- I draw passersby along, like swirling leaves, urging them to step off the path and discover this small plateau encircled by the meandering stream. Only the most athletic resist my invitation.
- By blowing mysterious silhouettes into the rising woodsmoke, I inspire the tales and music of grandparents. Descending toward the stream, I join other winds sweeping through the ravine and, cooling at the touch of the water, I refresh the children at play.
- Blowing hard in the high crowns, I give the trees stronger roots on the leeward side, and at times I sweep the crowns into a frenetic dance, bringing down trees too old or diseased. In this way I allow life to be reborn.
