Public Drawing – Ridgeline Water Behavior

  • Waldlabor
  • On the top of the Waldlabor forest, we stumble upon an interesting intersection between two clay and gravel paths, called Mittelwaldstrasse and Kappeliholzstrasse. Mittelwaldstrasse is the highest ridge of the forest, acting almost like a threshold.
  • This becomes particularly relevant for the topic of water, where precipitation first reaches this higher track, not protected by any canopy, is deflected to the sides by the convex shape of the path and slowly trickles down towards a small pond.
  • The dynamicity, the privileged topography and the relation with water the path has, strengthens the role of the site as the back-spine of Waldlabor.
