Public Drawing – Paths of Recovery
- Waldlabor
- In 2021, a powerful storm devastated the area, leading to the removal
of numerous trees for safety reasons and creating a large clearing along
the riverbank. This drastic change altered the area's use: on one hand,
new plants were introduced to restore vegetation, while on the other,
people began utilizing the open space for recreation and leisure.
- Additionally, the storm, combined with human interventions, has
affected the water cycle. In areas where trees have not regrown, the
soil—characterized by a high clay concentration—has become further
compacted due to human activity, reducing water absorption and
increasing both surface and subsurface runoff into the river.
- To ensure
sustainable use and environmental protection, a balanced approach
between intervention and natural regeneration is essential.
