Public Drawing – Flowing Connections
- Waldlabor
- On a small riverbank at the edge of the Waldlabor is an area
dedicated to researching the water cycle in the forest. Here the
river is channeled through an artificial dam that measures its
level, and then sampled every six hours by a pump to check
its chemical composition.
- Deeper into the woods, another
device analyzes the groundwater and its pressure through a
subsoil pipe. The research also involves the trees: temperature
and motion sensors are attached to the trunks of different
species to compare how they behave in relation to water.
- The
water here connects the entire ecosystem— from the air, to the
trees, to the soil— and plays a vital role in balancing a
multitude of living beings around it.
