- ZwischenZeit, together with its surrounding buildings and squares, forms a public park that preserves the site’s natural character. As a shelter for refugees, it offers flexible apartments, connectable by doors, to adapt to different needs.
- A communal corridor facing the garden serves as a shared kitchen, fostering social encounters. Residents cultivate a garden that provides vegetables and herbs for the large kitchen, where lunches for schoolchildren are prepared and pies for the people of Oberwil are baked, while fruit trees in the park supply ingredients for desserts.
- Children running around, people from different backgrounds meet while sharing stories over food and pie.
