Masans-Platz Housing aims at bringing back these interesting elements by respecting the traditions and the construction context. The housing complex will revolve around a square. Added to the square is a modern and sober fountain surrounded by benches.
Each household will have a kitchen with recycled Stube furniture, opening on the square. A large top hung window creates a sheltering space, further inviting people to come interact with the Houses. The playful design of the window with an extended sill and a bench allows interaction.
To this day, the village of Masans has kept a solely residential purpose, explaining the lack of infrastructure to support the growth of any sort of local community. That’s where the creation of a center comes into play. Quietness is also brought with the help of the topography.
