Furniture – Connecting Fountain

  • Hönggerberg, Zürich
  • Connecting Fountain is a small-scale water installation designed and constructed by us, second-year architecture students, as part of the Behaviorology course led by Momoyo Kaijima. The project’s objective was to activate a micro public space that enhances access to the river.
  • The installation consists of three timber basins connected by a simple open-channel system that diverts water directly from the river. Each basin is designed to support a different mode of engagement with water, exploring multiple sensory and spatial relationships.
  • The installation is built entirely from reclaimed wood, reflecting a conscious approach to sustainability and sensitivity to the site’s natural conditions. Connecting Fountain is conceived not simply as an object, but as a relational device informed by the principles of Behaviorology.
