Furniture – AANG Above Stone Over Water
- Hönggerberg, Zürich
- In the middle of the Waldlabor Forest lies a small hidden pond, a calm retreat away from the busy city. Inhabited by birds, frogs, small animals and a broad variety of plants it is the perfect spot to come and observe nature in its purest form.
- A platform stretches out as one long line, from the trees on land over the edge and into the air above the pond. This micro public space is tucked away between small trees, almost blending into its surroundings and offers a place to rest, observe and connect with nature.
- Stone forms the base adjusting to the earth, fire, through the yakisugi method, protects the wood and the cantilever is floating in the air above the pond to observe the water below from an unexpected viewpoint. All elements come together to create a place for rest, reflection and observation.
