Case Study – Ziefen Bauernhof – 16th century
- Ziefen
- The 16th century farmhouse taught two families to live as more than neighbours. Each day began at the shared porch, then split to two doors and kitchens.
- A single stair ran through the centre to attic rooms used for sleeping. Because both households relied on that stair, meetings were constant.
- Messages, errands, and favours were arranged on the steps. The plan of the house made interaction routine and turned neighbourly contact into real closeness.
