Case Study – Zerkindenhof

- A white façade, a pitched roof and symmetrical windows. At first glance, the Zerkindenhof’s narrow façade appears the same as those of the other buildings on Basel's historical Nadelberg street.
- Yet behind this pale mask hides a much larger body. Front and back house, divided by two courtyards and a garden, stretch along an elongated plot of nearly 70 meters.
- At its end a small tower, a remnant of the former city wall, becomes the connecting arm between the medieval building and the now modernized Petersgraben.
