- Since 1450, half-timbered houses have nestled along the steep alleyway between the retaining walls of St. Martin's. Despite their identical structure, these houses underwent their own transfmations over time.
- Cutlers, tailors, and especially shoemakers shaped the medieval alleyway. The plague subsided, the half-timbered houses were plastered over, and even one was converted into a stable. Industrialization brought sewerage, and a placement office welcoming job seekers from Central Europe.
- Today vegan Donuts are sold. Despite their narrow spaces, the houses offered flexible space.
