Case Study – Nilbo – 1947

- At 9 a.m. the concrete slab secures the base. By noon prefabricated wooden panels, standardized for walls, floors, and ceilings, are lifted into place, sliding into double-T posts.
- Windows follow. In the afternoon roof beams with pitched profiles, crown the house with generous overhangs.
- By evening, a Nilbo house stood finished, meeting Basel’s urgent postwar housing demands. Its rapid assembly made possible by wood that was both lightweight, transportable, and readily available.
