- A house built like a volcano: its core, the courtyard with the retractable glass roof and the glass chambers, evokes the interior of a crater open to the sky. Grey concrete walls reminisce the crater’s edge.
- The base of the house is grounded into the terrain, while the liveliness arises out of the landscape.
- Resembling a volcano after an eruption, the aging Koechlin house, built from the inside out, contends with nature as it reclaims the land.
