- Amidst the edges of Arlesheim, Haus Streicher presides over the town from its tamed hillside. Built in 1934 by Hermann Baur for renowned journalist Siegfried Streicher, the residence domesticates the wild topography into both house and garden.
- The choreography of the terraces enframe each their own picturesque view - a striking divergence to the English-style gardens typical of the time - opening toward both the depths of the forests and the town of Arlesheim.
- The two floors continue this layered lookout, embedded into the slope with discretion toward their surroundings.
