Case Study – Haus Senn

- Inspired by Le Corbusier’s concept of the “machine à habiter”, this villa translates this idea both systematically and literally.
- Through the implementation of ribbon windows on the southern façade, an open floor plan, and a rooftop terrace, the house leaves the purely decorative behind and becomes an efficient “machine”.
- Literally, it recalls structural elements of a ship through its staircase, a connecting pier, and a garden pavilion that appears to float above the ground.
