Case Study – Haus Kirschbaumweg

- How many baskets will be filled this summer? Located in the suburbs of Basel, the site recalls the cherry orchards that once shaped its landscape and translates this history into a clear architectural language.
- The house is rooted on a concrete base and features almost symmetrical façades characterized by horizontal larch wood slats. The south facing facade towards the garden is defined by large openings and a floating loggia that bridges interior and exterior.
- Just like the treetops, the overhanging roof provides shade on a sunny summer day. Hopefully the house will continue to bear its fruits for a long time to come.
