Maison Double

  • Aïre, Geneva
  • The apartment housing complex is situated on the slope facing the lake. The individual flats are mirrored on each floor, so that the more private outdoor spaces are oriented to the outside. Towards the inside the atmosphere steadily takes on a more public and collective character.
  • The relation between inside and outside is strongly expressed in the floor plan. The dining area is oriented towards the common outdoor space, so that it can be extended in the summer towards the exterior and strengthen the contact with the neighbours.
  • This connection between the living areas is made possible to the outside by a large window. The entire building has a wooden slat facade from the outside which refers to its internal construction's materiality.
