House with a View
- Aïre, Geneva
- The house with a view consists of three levels. Each level hosts two family apartments. The main idea was to concentrate the certain uses, in this case the dining and cooking area, to a central point. The facilities for cooking and eating are shared between neighbours.
- The rooms are arranged around this public core as a circular layer. The result is a semi-circular house shape, which interiors are characterised by walls that are at a changing angle to each other.
- This consideration can be traced back to the question of how public and private spaces can be used and separated from each other. Due to its semi-circular shape, the building directs and opens itself towards the river, slope downwards.
