Furniture – Snake Bench

  • ETH ONA, Oerlikon
  • Our flexible seating opportunity is designed to encourage different forms of gathering between people through interaction with the design.
  • 8 Single modules (4 long benches, 3 stools and 1 table) are constructed out of wooden frames that are doweled together and connected with rubber hinges. Two adjustable heights of the table allow an adaptability of the furniture to the needs of the user.
  • In the evening, the benches are illuminated from the inside, making the snake-bench enjoyable at any time of the day. Inspired by sailing, we used sails, ropes and dowels instead of screws, to create a weatherproof, durable, light and harmonic furniture.
