Case Study – Villa Bleuler – 1888
- Zürich
- When the historic Villa Beller was built in 1888, Zürich Seefeld was the preferred residential area for wealthy citizens around the city of Zürich.
- The building was intended to be admired in its most magnificent views from the English landscape garden, with which the villa forms a single unit.
- The forms of the building are inspired by the Italian renaissance - a steel structure, highly modern at the time bears the loads. The bricks are also groundbreaking and the villa Bleuler would go down in history as one of the first representative building with exposed brick cladding in the region.
