Fiescherlücke Weg – Lower Grindelwald Glacier Path

  • Grindelwald, Bern, Switzerland
  • The construction of a path connecting Alpiglen and Pfingstegg, two existing stations.
  • The new gallery structures are followed by the path which is attached to the cliff of the rockface. The galleries are growing out of the path itself and build a sheltered start and endpoint. The space in the gallery is also meant to be a working area in the case of repairing works along the path.
  • The construction is made from wood and is anchored into the rock with metal parts. The building materials are borrowed from the Terminal and from abandoned infrastructural leftovers, such as the Fallboden chairlift.
