Furniture – Beyond the Roots

  • Hönggerberg, Zürich
  • This project invites people to experience the forest in an entirely new way. Inspired by the distinctive root formations of the site, it features four pieces of furniture designed with a parametric support structure derived from the Da Vinci Bridge concept, allowing for site-specific customization.
  • Each piece consists of a robust primary structure paired with a secondary, interchangeable one crafted from repurposed slats, blending harmoniously into the natural surroundings. This sustainable approach emphasizes adaptability and environmental integration.
  • The furniture encourages users to sit, lie, or lean, offering varied perspectives that reveal the forest's hidden features and foster a deeper connection with nature.
