Case Study – Casa Kalman – 1976
- Brione, Ticino
- Casa Kalman is a vacation home for the Kalman family, located on a steep slope with views of Lago Maggiore. The house integrates seamlessly into the landscape, with its concrete form following the natural contours of the land.
- Inside, the design emphasizes a connection to the lake with large windows and staircases that lead south, enhancing the views. The expansive glazing allows for panoramic vistas while also addressing the hot summer climate.
- The strategically set-back windows help prevent the house from overheating, making it comfortable even during the hottest days.
