Tra i Muri di Pietra

  • Viganello, Lugano
  • Inspired by the massive stone walls of the “Casa per uno Scultore” and the stone path surrounding the site in Lugano, I chose to adopt the theme of stone walls for my housing complex.
  • The walls are arranged to follow the topography, creating terraced outdoor areas and connecting the house to the path. They also serve multifunctional purposes, including gardening, relaxing on the warmed stones, and outdoor cooking.
  • The common space runs from the entrance down through different levels, featuring areas for arts and crafts, cooking, socializing, and a play area for children. To continue the theme of "between the stone walls," I transformed the former donkey house into a washhouse and storage space, built entirely out of stone.
