Residenza Conchiglia

  • Viganello, Lugano
  • Residenza Conchiglia draws inspiration from the concept of intimacy, as seen in the Casa Filippini, where the relationship between the interior and exterior was examined. The design's goal was to create a residential complex that provides shelter from the surrounding world. Terraces are shared between apartments and their 2-3 inhabitants.
  • These terraces serve as intermediate spaces between the interior of the interior and the surrounding context. They function as extensions of the apartments, converging at the heart of the project. In this manner, residents enjoy communal spaces for interaction, while simultaneous endulding a panoramic view of Lugano.
  • The design aims to establish a living environment for twenty individuals that mirrors the intimacy of an introverted single-family home, resulting in secure and protected spaces delicately connected to the outside world.
