Vineyard Gardens

- Situated on the hillside of Lugano, the vineyard gardens revive the ancient terraces of the vineyards. The settlement is mainly accessed from above, where the hillside becomes productive as a garden for fruit trees. Between the buildings, three terraces come alive. The path through the terraces leads down to the vines and repurposed donkey house.
- Each of the buildings has its own window front. Within each building, there is a two-story apartment in the lower part and a single-story apartment on top. Both types of apartments are divided into sleeping areas in the back and living areas in the front. Each unit has its own front door, creating a sense of individuality.
- The free sight at the long side wall and the double-height space create a sense of generosity. Despite being rather dense, the apartments at vineyard gardens create a sense of individuality and generosity, while forming a little garden community.
