- The Casa Doppia Living Complex is situated on the north side of a hill facing Lake Lugano and makes use of the slope and terrain to create a unique building that blends in with its surroundings.
- The apartments follow a simple modular principle, which can be extended if the population grows. The principle also allows for a mixed population of senior citizens, families, and students by adapting the apartments to their needs.
- Included in the complex is a seasonal farming method called aquaponics, which works along the rain gutters and allows the inhabitants to grow vegetables and other plants for ecological farming, while also adding to the facade and creating shade along the balconies.
