Collaboration between Architects and Engineers in Japan

On 17th April 2019 Mitsuhiro Kanada held a lecture introducing several of his collaborations with architects in Japan, such as the “Tomochi Forestry Hall” by Taira Nishizawa and Toyo Ito’s Taichung Metropolitan Opera, among others.

Unveiling the design process and its challenges he reflected on the role of structural engineering in the realization of architectural projects.

The lecture was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Momoyo Kaijima with Joseph Schwartz, Laurent Stalder and Yoshiharu Tsukamoto.
